Texting style carries real information, separate from the literal content of the messages — response time, message length, and question frequency all offer signals worth paying attention to, without over-analyzing every word.

Response Time Isn’t Always About Interest

It’s tempting to read response delays as a direct measure of interest, but plenty of people are simply busy, bad at texting, or not glued to their phone. A single slow reply means little; a consistent pattern over multiple exchanges is more informative.

Are Questions Coming Back?

One of the more reliable signals is whether she’s asking you things back, not just answering what you ask. Consistently one-sided questioning — you asking, her only answering — is a more meaningful pattern than response speed alone.

Effort Level Compounds Over Time

A short reply here or there isn’t significant on its own, but a consistent pattern of minimal-effort, one-word responses across many exchanges is a real signal worth taking seriously rather than explaining away.

Individual texts are noisy signals — easy to over-read in either direction. Patterns across several exchanges are far more reliable than any single message.
